Pets Best Insurance Pet Health Insurance

Boise, Idaho (Vocus) September 20, 2011 (PRWEB) September 20, 2011

September is National Pet Health Insurance Month and Pets Best Insurance, pet insurance company founded by pet insurance expert Dr. Jack Stephens, the original founder of pet health insurance in the United States, is celebrating by holding a “Freaky Friday” contest honoring the most freak pet accident or pet emergency. One winner will be selected each week through the month of September. Each winner will be awarded a $ 50 gift certificate to The Animal Rescue Site store. From clothing and jewelry, home décor and pet supplies, the site has something for everyone. No purchase is necessary and entrants do not need to be a current Pets Best Insurance policyholder.

If your dog has eaten your clothes or your cat has climbed into your dryer, tell us your unusual and unbelievable pet stories! To participate in the Pets Best Insurance Freaky Friday contest, post your story on Pets Best Insurance Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/petsbestinsurance. Look for winners to be announced each Friday on Facebook.

Winners so far this month are Michelle, whose dog ran into a tree; Gretchen, whose dog Sammy broke his “private part” while trying to mount another dog; and Leslie, whose dog Rogue fell out of a window and hyper extended both wrists. Keep the stories coming. There is still time to enter. Pets Best Insurance will announce two more winners before the end of the month.

According to Packaged Facts, 53% of US households own a pet and spend more than $ 25 billion annually on veterinary services. With pet insurance available for less than $ 1 per day, more and more pet owners are purchasing pet insurance for their dogs and cats. Of course, pet insurance premiums are based on age, location and breed of the pet.

Pets Best Insurance pet insurance provider is a member of the North American Pet Health Insurance Association. Founded in 2007, the North American Pet Health Insurance Association (NAPHIA) members work collaboratively towards establishing and maintaining universal and professional standards for terminology, best practices, quality, and ethics in the pet health industry. Amateur Photographers Create Professional Paintings During National Hobby Month

Amateur Photographers Create Professional Paintings During National Hobby Month

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 3, 2007

Brilliant Image, the digital painting experts, are proud to announce a new service: MyLife…MyArt, which lets amateur photographers turn their favorite pictures into professional quality, decorative paintings to display at home and office.

With as many as 65 million digital cameras snapping holiday pictures last month, people are looking for new ways remember and share these special moments. Some people store them on computers and some produce prints to put on their desks. Enlarging images photographically to hang on walls has been an expensive proposition, which is why people rarely do it. Using digital technology, however, Brilliant Image produces vibrant, photorealistic paintings at very reasonable prices.

Brilliant Image’s process is as easy as 1-2-3. Upload the high-resolution image at http://www.brilliantimage.com or mail the photo to Brilliant Image. Select a painting size (up to 40 x 60 inches) and chose a decorative, solid-wood frame that highlights the painting and complements the room’s décor. Place the order and within two weeks, you receive a beautiful decorative painting to share with family and friends.

“If the original picture isn’t perfect, don’t worry,” said Jerry Cahn, Ph.D., J.D., Brilliant Image’s president. “Our team of digital experts review all images and enhances them as needed. There’s no charge for basic editing, like removing red-eye and enhancing the contrast between the subject and the background. More complex artistic effects are also available, such as creating collages or major photo-retouching. Our bottom-line is that each Brilliant Image painting should be as good as, if not better than, the original image.”

In recognition of “National Hobby Month”, Brilliant Image is offering free ground shipping for all paintings ordered by amateur photographers during January. For more information, visit http://www.brilliantimage.com.

Keep Outdoor Parties Pest Free During July 4 Holiday

Keep Outdoor Parties Pest Free During July 4 Holiday

Memphis, Tenn. (Vocus) July 2, 2010

Homeowners will seek independence from backyard pests at cookouts, pool parties and other outdoor activities during the July 4 weekend. To keep pests from ruining your holiday festivities, take the following steps from the experts at Terminix.

Ants – Whether you’re serving hamburgers, hot dogs or ice cream, ants are attracted to just about anything that humans eat. Ants are the No. 1 nuisance pest in the United States but can be kept off the guest list by following these simple tips:

1.    Immediately clean drink and food spills.

2.    Take dirty plates and utensils indoors after eating.

3.    Sweep entertainment areas after meals to eliminate remaining food particles.

Yellowjackets – The yellowjacket’s sweet tooth, coupled with its aggressive nature, can spell trouble for some outdoor activities. Unlike some stinging insects, yellowjackets and other wasps do not lose their stinger when attacking, meaning they can repeatedly sting their victims. While attacks are rarely life threatening, they can be a major concern for those who are allergic to insect stings. To keep these pests away, take these steps:

1.    Keep fruits covered at all times.

2.    Serve juices in pitchers with sealed lids.

3.    Throw away all trash in lid-sealed containers.

Flies – Flies keep your guests swatting and shooing, ruining even well-planned parties. These flying pests often breed in and live in garbage, animal manure and other waste and can spread diseases to humans when landing on food. Use these tips to help keep flies at bay:

1.    Use fans to create a light breeze across a table.

2.    Serve food in containers with removable lids.

3.    Locate trash receptacles as far from you and your guests as possible.

Mosquitoes – These bloodthirsty pests make outdoor events miserable. Mosquitoes can breed in only a few tablespoons of water, and they usually do not travel far from their original breeding site. Mosquitoes are a health threat, as they are known to transmit multiple forms of encephalitis, most notably the West Nile virus. Take these steps to minimize the presence of mosquitoes:

1.    Empty birdbaths and unused containers at least once a week to eliminate breeding grounds in your own backyard.

2.    Keep gutters clean so water does not accumulate. Any water that stands for seven days or longer could become a breeding area for mosquitoes.

Fragrances – Remove scented candles from the entertainment area. These might attract flying insects that mistake the scent for fruit or flowers.

Lighting – Many flying insects are attracted to light. To maintain the mood you want while keeping pests as far away as possible, consider lighting the eating, cooking and social areas from a distance.

These simple steps will limit opportunities for pests, but only a professional pest control company can eliminate insects from a home.

For more information about pests, visit http://www.terminix.com.
